2012年11月27日 · Out of all of the knives I own, my Opinel No.9 gets the most use, simply because it's the perfect knife for me. It does everything I need it for perfectly. It just cuts so well and feels good in the hand. Most knives get used for food prep, and that's what I use this Opinel for the most, but also for utility and EDC.

2010年1月14日 · I like Opinel's, and love the history and utility of the basic peasants knife with the added ring lock. But I don't know about this one, much mixed feelings here. The old Opinel is a little finicky, kind of like the old VW bugs with an air cooled engine that needed a little more attention than the 'new' stuff.

2017年2月7日 · Buggers lock up during extended rainy weather. A well treated Opinel will not lock up in any extended rainy weather. If treated right, an Opinel will stand up to extended submerging with only a bit of stiffening of the action. I've used mineral oil soaks, wax melted into the wood around the pivot, and linseed oil.

I prefer Carbon myself, but, 12C27 is an excellent choice for the stainless version. Essentially, you can't go wrong with either steel type when it comes to Opinel. G.

2015年8月2日 · Hello Opinel modders. After reading all pages of this thread I decided to buy my first Opinel N0.10. And here is my humble attempt at modding. I first changed the handle shape, added some cow bone finish piece, made a lanyard hole and painted matte black. Then put the diamond knot lanyard on. All made by myself.

2017年3月4日 · The Opinel #9 is my most commonly carried knife so I'll chime in. First off... the Opinel isn't for everybody. To begin with, it's a traditional knife and either people are into traditional folders as their primary carry or they aren't. If somebody isn't into traditional knives to begin with, the Opinel will make zero sense.

2009年8月2日 · Fittings of this sort (roughly) are used to attach sails to fittings and lines. Sailors and climbers both have good reasons to like serrated blades for fast cutting of ropes, which can be a life/death sort of thing. IME, the Opinel #9 (pictured) or #10 make great backpacking knives.
