2003年5月25日 · Masonary drills are your best bet. We use masonary drills for opening holes in M2 steel Rc 60-62 and also for drilling rough core carbide nibs. Very cost effective opposed to solid carbide drills which will not flex under pressure.

If you don't want to tackle it yourself (see complicating factors below) talk to your local general machine shop about doing it. Some of the factors that can complicate the process are, 1) You will need to buy a carbide drill bit and center drill.

One thing to think about if it is indeed Case Hardened then you will want to check how much you are taking out.
