Apr 15, 2008 · I had good luck restoring dried out leather stacked handles on my WWII Cattauragus 225Q with a product called "Sno Seal" which is made from bees wax. I used a regular hair dryer to warm up the leather and just start liberally applying the Sno Seal and let it soak in. Stop and let it cool down and reapply as many times as you want.

Feb 12, 2013 · WD-40 is a workable rust-remover, especially combined with steel wool. Douse the steel parts thoroughly (don't worry about the bone). Leave it overnight, come back and scrub with more steel wool. Repeat until you sense you've gotten all off you can. Don't be afraid to scrape at the WD-40-soaked rusty parts.

Alternatively, any kitchen cleaner should get it off. Verdigris isn't tough as far as corrosion goes, but it is persistent.
