"Insecure" or "unsecure" when dealing with security?
2011年4月6日 · Unsecured feels correct but the past tense changes the meaning ever so slightly. Even so, I think it's less incorrect to use "unsecured" than to misuse (insecure) or make up (unsecure) a word. Non-secure doesn't feel any better. I suspect there is no word and the only reasonable choice is to add a modifier like "insufficiently" or "not" to ...
Is "glass cannon" a generally recognized phrase?
2012年10月9日 · A similar phrase that first springs to mind is loose cannon, which etymologically has little to do with a cannon's firepower, but more to do with the dangers of a unsecured cannon rolling around on the deck of a ship. Idioms using the word glass can refer to fragility (as in glass cannon), but the word often connotes transparency as well.
