Updates Hurricane Ian: Recovery continues, openings begin
Oct. 2 Update: Anna Maria Island’s beaches survived the impact of Hurricane Ian almost completely intact. Manatee County reported mid-day Oct. 2 that staff conducted before and after measurements of the beach along 25 sites and found essentially “zero loss” of sandy beach resource width or depth of beach from Hurricane Ian effects.

2024年9月24日 · More claims of racism leveled at Anna Maria. A fifth former Anna Maria employee has come forward, alleging racially motivated mistreatment inside the walls of city hall. Candela Lemos, who worked for the city as a temporary employee October-December 2023, emailed The Islander Sept. 15, detailing her experiences with the city.
