Finland. Apr 26, 2020. #2. Nice review. When I first saw these on the SUS Youtube channel, they reminded me of the the Rebel ukuleles quite a lot as well, so I'll have to agree there. I'm not a huge fan of the looks either. I probably prefer the looks of the Rebel ukes more but Oulcraft might edge it on the sound quality from what I've seen.

Leolani are the main brand - make a range of solid topped AND laminate instruments (made in far east) and sold out of Honolulu u.nder the Leolani name Kumu IS Leolani too - but just a different line - Hawaiian koa series of laminates.

2013年1月26日 · There are 6-strings and 8-strings available which should give off richer tones, but for the moment, I prefer 5-strings. One reason the uke is so popular is due to its simplicity of having only 4 strings. So the 5-strings provide me with the convenience of a high G and low G, rich tone and simplicity--the best of 4 worlds.

2013年3月29日 · Treat yourself. There are excellent sopranos in the $200 to $300 range. Or, buy a pretty one, like the $80 Luna Great Waves Soprano, which I own. Even if you don't play it, it looks nice on your wall. I like the Kala "Watermelon" pineapple for looks, but whatever you do, spend the extra $20 on professional setup.

As long as the set you buy says it will work for soprano, you're okay (even if it's for a bigger ukulele, you can just cut them shorter.) I thought those entry level Lanikais came strung with Aquilas, but I could be wrong.

I have changed strings all my life and have done so without issue. Today the Fremont install was a challenge. When tying I only looped it through once.

Aug 18, 2013. #8. I would you recommend that you practice on something before you try it on your uke. You can get something thin, like luan, at home depot. Also different woods have different grains. Hardwood grains are close together, but pine is pretty loose. Even the same wood can have different grain patterns.

The two ukes I reviewed were donated by The Ukulele Shop (since closed) to the raffle at the Hollesley Ukulele gathering last July. I bought tickets for the raffle. I won the SK70MG!
