2020年12月30日 · The only way to obtain SNMP management on a Smart-UPS C 1500 unit is with our PowerChute Business Edition software. If your UPS is APC model number SMC1500 as you seem to indicate it is, the SMC1500 does not have a smart slot so it cannot be used with our Network Management Cards. I will link our PowerChute Business Edition download for you.

2012年4月27日 · IIRC that’s what got me. UPS was fairly loaded, batteries were shot, setting was to start shut down when 5 minutes were left on battery. Unplugged the power cord to move it or reroute it, but it was the UPS that was connected to the software. The server immediately started to shutdown since it didn’t have more than 5 minutes runtime left.

Check APC’s website and see if they have a VMware version of the UPS monitoring software. Do you have a network card in the UPS and if not you should have one. You may need to reconfigure the UPS for Linux.

In my experience the only reliable way to do this is turning off the device and then the UPS. The issue is more on the Powerchute software, I would also restart the APC Services or software if needed.

The USB is for certain UPS monitoring and shutting down of UPS (and if I not wrong certain “force” update of firmware when there are issues). However Smart Slot for optional Network Management Card (NMC) is recommended.
