Clearwater Beach's shoreline boasts white sand, turquoise water and proximity to downtown's hotels, restaurants and attractions, making it one of the area's most popular beaches to visit.

Close to 250 volunteers came out to Clearwater Beach on Friday morning to kick off the Big Cleanup Clearwater.

While Clearwater Beach will reopen to visitors on Tuesday, Mayor Bruce Rector is asking people to give the community time.
