Everyone is very helpful, most people speak alright English, and there are maps and info everywhere. download MapsMe app! It is an offline map app that has all the trails and streets available. Hi we arranged our own trip. We stayed on San Cristobal, Isabela and Santa Cruz. We did it very economically, had an amazing time. From talking to friends who have done cruises we did and saw much more! It is also very easy to do.
The entrance to the beach area was only about a 10 minute walk from town. The real walk was once you enter the beach/park area down to the beach/water area.
