We went out at 5pm from kona to a spot near the airport where there were about 5-7 other boats. Before the sun set we could already see manta rays. Once in the water we saw a couple swim by below us … Electric Images A的完整评论
For the night Manta Ray Snorkel/Dive, is diving rather than snorkeling worth it? I'm going with my wife who is not certified but I am. If the snorkeling is on par with diving I'll just snorkel with her. But will I regret not diving after the fact (is it better)? Thanks

It is as good a snorkel as it is a dive. 30 feet of water so visibility is great.
What is the best time of night to see the manta rays? I've seen tour times ranging from 6pm to 11pm and am curious if it is better to go earlier in the evening around sunset or later in the night?

I preferred a little later. The rays are attracted by the light that is placed in the water so they see their food easily. I thought the contrast, especially off of their white undersides, with total darkness above was tremendously dramatic. They genuinely seem to love to put on their show and glide through the water - it is a memory you definitely want!
I am looking for advice on the Wildlife Adventures tour. I will be 6 months pregnant during my vacation and am slightly nervous about being able to participate. I do have snorkeling experience and am physically active. I did get confirmation from the company that pregnant women are permitted as long as they consult with a doctor first. Any advice or opinions on this tour will be greatly appreciated and helpful with my decision!

I would definitely do it. As long as you don’t get out of breath. Keep your breathing steady and regulated ♥️
Lots of questions: Why are some of the tours only 1 hour and some up to 3 hours? Do the longer ones go to different locations? It doesn't sound like much of an adventure if all the boats/people are in the same place and you are only metres from the shore. Someone recommended checking if the mantas are around before booking - aren't all the tour companies going to tell you they are around, regardless? They want you to book with them, right?

There are 2 spots that the Ray's go, these are all used by the boat companies.the boats all congregate together and use lights to attract the plankton. Some tours go earlier, letting you in the water to see fish before sunset. However, you may get cold being in the water for 2 hrs. It takes 30 min. To beat to the site, and 30 min. Back, that's the 3rd journal. We were one of last boats to arrive. Had plenty of time to watch the sunset from the boat before getting wetsuits on to enter the dark water. I wouldnt have wanted to be in water longer than 45 min. It. Is crowded, but you're not swimming with the Ray's, you are hanging onto a float and that swim under and around you.
