The Guildhall is a building of outstanding architectural interest, an ancient monument and a busy working building. It is still used regularly for civic functions, full meetings of the City Council, official receptions, mayoral banquets and exhibitions. Situated on the High Street - the Guildhall is the oldest Municipal building in the Country with records dating back to the 1160s. It is open to the public as much as possible, so please do pop in if you happen to walk by and see the doors open. Please note - we are not the Guildhall Shopping Centre
