There are two inclines, Duquesne (near the Ohio river - west) and the Monongahela (on the Mon river - east). If you park on top of Mt Washington and take the Mon incline, it empties …
There are two inclines, Duquesne (near the Ohio river - west) and the Monongahela (on the Mon river - east). If you park on top of Mt Washington and take the Mon incline, it empties out right near a T station (Pittsburgh light rail). From there you can pay $1 (might be a bit more now) per person to ride in to town and all the way over to the Science Center which is the last stop on the line.

The exhibits are geared towards kids as in there is lots to touch, cool things to see that attract kids, and things to figure out. It is also interesting to adults on a different level because the explanations about science adults will process on a deeper level, the submarine is great, and lots of things adults would find interesting to look at too. If the Lego exhibit is still there all the adults and children found that amazing!

We had a 9, 11 and 13 yr old with us. We spent the entire day there; we did watch the Star Wars movie in the big theatre, and hang out in the sports adventure area, along with having lunch there... probably a good 6/7 hours.
On average, how long do you suggest it takes to experience the center?

You could easily spend the entire day. We got there around 11 and stayed until closing (actually, a little after because the laser light show we saw didn’t start until 5:45 p.m.).
