Hi, sorry it took me so long to reply. We had a house fire and I'm off my game. I am disabled. I can walk, but I use a cane or walking sticks. This lake has two great disability parking places right next to the lake. You can't see them from the parking lot, you have to drive down (past the end of the parking lot) to the boat ramp area. The disability parking is on the right. I think there is one or two regular parking spaces there too. Unfortunately, if those spaces are taken, you have to walk down to the lake. The road is steep, but on the right is a nice walkway that is longer and prettier but less steep. It is a short walk and I had to do it once. Going down was easy, coming back up very hard for me. I stopped and rested several times, but it's not strenuous, I'm just kind of weak and slow on the uphill. There are nice trails around the lake that look pretty easy but you don't have to do that to enjoy it. The dock and beach and bathroom are next to the disability parking by the lake. I hope that helps.

HI I think you do have to pay to park. I have an annual parking pass so I can go to different places. If you camp, I think you get a day pass included. Now, near my house, about 30 minutes from Battle ground, are Lacamas lake and Round Lake. Parking is free at both lakes and there is an extensive trail system that can handle strollers as well, so if you are looking for a pretty place in Clark County with free parking, the county lakes are good. In the summer you can rent a kayak at Lacamas. For a 3 year old, Round Lake (across the street from Lacamas) is very safe, has a playground etc and nice level trails. Battle Ground Lake is a "state park" so the state uses the money to maintain the place and they have rangers on site all the time too. Another great place nearby is the Columbia River waterfront trails and parks by downtown vancouver. A very pretty and easy paved trail along the river with parks and restaurants nearby. The parking is free here too. I hope that helps!
